On March 24, 2024, the UFC Apex will host a spectacular evening of mixed martial arts action, featuring a headline bout between Amanda Ribas and Rose Namajunas in the women's flyweight division. This event marks a pivotal moment for both fighters, with Ribas seeking to extend her winning streak and Namajunas aiming to rebound from a recent setback in her flyweight journey.
Main Event Spotlight: Ribas vs. Namajunas
Amanda Ribas, boasting an impressive record of 21-4-0, enters the octagon following a stunning victory over Luana Pinheiro via TKO, courtesy of a spinning wheel kick and punches at UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Craig last November in Las Vegas. This performance not only secured her a "Performance of the Night" accolade but also solidified her status as a formidable contender in the strawweight division, now making waves in flyweight.
On the other side, Rose Namajunas (12-6-0) looks to bounce back from her unanimous decision loss to Manon Fiorot at UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Spivac in Paris, marking her debut in the flyweight category. Namajunas, a fighter known for her resilience and skill, is determined to reassert her dominance and climb back to the top of the division.
Co-Main Event: Heavyweight Clash and Middleweight Encounter
The co-main event will see Karl Williams (9-1-0) square off against Justin Tafa (7-3-0, 1NC) in a heavyweight battle. Williams is coming off a unanimous decision win against Chase Sherman, showcasing his prowess and determination. In contrast, Tafa, fresh from a knockout victory over Austen Lane at UFC 293, is eager to add another win to his record and climb the heavyweight ranks.
The card also features a middleweight bout between Edmen Shahbazyan (12-4-0) and AJ Dobson (7-2-0, 1NC). Shahbazyan is looking to rebound from a loss to Anthony Hernandez, while Dobson enters the fight with momentum from a unanimous decision win against Tafon Nchukwi, setting the stage for a highly anticipated contest.
